Today, True Freedom had a great opportunity to come to one of the 2 receiving centers in the entire State of Ohio.  We saw more than 150 men; 90% of them have only been in prison for 30 days.

What a privilege to be able to resource True Freedom Prison Ministries with 5 of the new Alpha Film Series DVD’s to take into prisons all over NE Ohio. Thanks to Frank Scalish, Mike Swiger, Gary Koly and ALL the other people involved with True Freedom for all you do to reach those who Jesus said: “as you do to them—you do to me…”

Alistair Begg (TruthForLife.org) was invited to speak at a local Cleveland prison through True Freedom Ministries

The man at the front of the room in the prison here is talking about the institution's culinary and hospitality training that will help some of his fellow inmates "give back to the community." He will never get back to any community; he is serving a "double life" sentence.

True Freedom Prison Ministry follows the model Jesus Christ laid out for the disciples in the books of Acts to spread the Gospel in ever-growing concentric circles from their hub in Jerusalem, we seek to reach those first in Cleveland, then to Northeast Ohio, and then to the uttermost parts of the state of Ohio.

True Freedom’s Gary Koly and Michael Swiger were featured speakers at the Nation’s largest Correctional Summit held at the Billy Graham Institute at Wheaton College in late May.

For three decades Gary Koly has been faithfully preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ to the inmates at the Cleveland Justice Center, one of the largest county jails in the United States.

Two Ohio University alumni and close friends—Marc Houk and Mike Swiger—talked about their careers in the criminal justice system to students in Dr. Nicole Kaufman’s Criminology and Criminal Justice classes in April.

True Freedom Ministries has partnered with the Alpha Course, an International Ministry dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.  The Alpha Course as an introduction to Christianity’s basic theological tenets, presented by Nicky Gumble, a pastor and world-renown speaker and presenter.  True Freedom is dedicated to planting this course in every prison in the state of Ohio within the next three years.

Dozens of Northeast Ohio churches turned out for the first official prison ministry training seminar provided by True Freedom Ministries in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections on Saturday, November 17th.

No shirt, no pants, no hope. An inmate released from prison leaves the “gray bar hotel” with only what he has on: vinyl shoes fastened with Velcro and a gray sweat suit, a little thicker than a handkerchief. That’s it.
